What I learned Today.

As Valeri and I sat and ate dinner tonight, I felt like a little school boy as I had learned something new today and wanted so desperately to report it her. Needless to say she was not as amused as I was with the information. This wonderful tidbit came to me today when I was watching animal planet I learned, are you ready....

The Beluga Whale is the only Whale species that does not have fused vertebrae in its neck. It can turn its head, independently of its body.

Amazing! All of the suden the Rafi song, Baby Beluga In The Deep Blue Sea, has new meaning.

I feel as though I have done my duty for the day, passing on this tidbit.

...But if I got my Nina, then you know I'm straight trippin...

The infamous words of Dr. Dre ring out and its time for a shout out to Nina's Pizza in Provo. Its on 7th East right next to J Dawgs. Next time you're in Provo and you are hungry stop by Nina's and snag a 14inch slice of pizza. Having never been to New York, Ill have to take the NY Rangers clad owner of Nina's with the NY accent that its a authentic NY Pizza. Indulge your self with a slice and a beverage, you will not be sorry.

Call me Bode.....

Well it finally happened, last Friday afternoon I went over to the dark side, It was my first day of skiing. Chad Duford took me up to Sundance and let me loose on the back mountain. Lucky for me there was about 6inches of powder to pad my falls. Here is my testimony of skiing, it is so much harder than snowboarding. Yeesh, I was focusing so hard at times if forgot to breath, which only aided my exhaustion. Never have I spent so much time on the mountain on my butt, stomach and in ways I never thought my body could ever bend. I told people to start calling me Bode Miller, not because I was good at skiing but because I skied like a drunk man. In the end I will deem it a success, but will not be starting in any Warren Miller movies anytime soon.

Today was a good day.

Thats right in the words of Ice Cube, "Today was a good day." It has taken me 1 year to get the ski's Valeri gave me for Christmas mounted. Thanks Autumn Garage. You see my journey started 3 ski shops ago, each of which could not mount my binding because they didn't have the jig, and then I came across autumn garage. My knight in shining armor, I now have a full functioning pair of skis and now I can learn the dark art.

Sir Winston Who?

It is life long dream of mine to create a quote that will will be published and used throughout the world long after I am gone, I know this is very nerdy but how cool would it be quoted in book! So move over Sir Winston Churchill and make way for Morgan M Hawley. Here it is.

"If Thomas Edison had given up and waited for the light bulb to invent him, we would still be sitting in the dark today." -Morgan M. Hawley (1983-Present)

A special shout out goes to Erica for committing to use my quote in her Sunday School lesson this next week! Holler!

Not only do we both have famous quotes about not giving up
but we are also both USC fans.
A coincidence? I think Not.

Putting in Work!

A shout out to Valeri for the greatest birthday present ever! A Blackburn Track Stand Ultra bike trainer. Now I can ride my little (huge) thighs off all winter. Thanks Val!

The Bandwagon Has Been Derailed!

The chase for the perfect season has been cut short by the perfect upset! That's right folks the New England Patriots, this years NFL equivalent of the New York Yankees lost the Super Bowl. What are the thousands of bandwagon fans going to do now, perhaps wait around until next season for another team to have a winning streak that they can align with. Boston It could have been an amazing year for you sportswise, but now all I have to say is can we have all of our Sports Illustrated covers back that we wasted on you!

Oh Yeah New England here is something that could have helped you earlier today!

First there Karl G. Mazer, then Lavell Edwards, then Asian Eddie and the last BYU fixture to retire his Provo All-Star status was Michael Lau aka the Van Wilder of Provo (minus the golf cart, vulgarity and Indian apprentice). Oh Mike Lau, here is my ode to you...You introduced me to my wife, we learned how to slack line together in the Bav Parking lot thanks to the beast, you caught me on my first lead climb when I ate crap on Mr Numbers, you suffered with me when our text books were stolen, we went on many an adventure like the trip to Cali, you taught me how to throw water balloons at the 40 year old dude in the Bav, you introduced me to the wonderful world of Subarus, you rocked the speedos with me in the hot tub, and many more. Thanks for the memories, I thought I was over my yellow fever until i met you my half Asian buddy, much love.
